and in these little corners

love.

in this post, from that blogger, in that email, from that corner, in that comment.

love.

i didn't know what blogging was.  really.  at first it was an anonymous place for me to post.  for me to feel like a bigshot in my own little world.  i had things to say.  keeping them in a journal was a joke.  there were big things to say.  big words to write.

so i wrote them.  and i hit publish.  and my little circle commented.  this was before i knew about google reader, before i knew about women who blogged.  before i knew about the beauty of a stranger leaving a comment and becoming a fast and true friend.  before i knew about stats and high hit counts.

and now i do.

the comments and the posts i read (not even here, in the whole wide blogosphere) are so heartfelt and true.

would we be this kind to strangers on the street?

would we let that person in our lane if we knew that they were a blogger next door?

these things, these truths, are so beautiful.  i haven't met a fraction of you, and i want to hug all of you.

for your comments, and for your posts.  for the comments left on your posts.

it's a big world.  and look at us.  it's like passing notes in math class.

"Like passing notes in math class". I was *just* saying that to a friend.

PS. I love this. Obviously: http://blogs.chron.com/goodmombadmom/2008/05/bs_sunday.html

This is perfect. Thank you.

Awesome. I am a comment whore. And I love the note-passing analogy- you're totally right, and the best part is you don't get detention for doing it. Blog on!

It's ridiculous how happy I get when I see new comments :) I know I'm not the only one!

right on. I love comments too.

Comments are my catnip!

I totally look at random people on the street now and wonder, "do they blog?" It's spooky -- I do the same thing, start looking at everyone through different eyes. Thanks for putting it into such clear perspective.

i am new to the blogging world and i LOVE IT when i find a great new blog and I LOVE IT when people leave comments for me and hope they don't think i'm too strange when i leave comments for them.
and i would totally let you into my lane even though i don't know if you live next door, but i think maybe my neighbor who does live next door wouldn't let ME in because i blog about them too . . . oohh can you say run on sentence, i can.

This is wonderful and true

My friends and I used to write line by line poems in English class (you know write a line but the person can't see anything above it).

very sweet post!

absolutely! Beautifully put.

Those are all extremely great and valid points you have made. I too shall put a link to this entry in my blog.

this is an awesomely worded post very accurately described :)

Hi, I just followed the link here from good mom bad mom!

I was just thinking about that while driving. This lady who looked about my age cut me off and I held some nasty thoughts to myself....and then I thought, "that could SO be "suebob" or "catnip" and they have no idea they just cut off "mama's losin' it." I find I'm being a little nicer to strangers now...you never know who you might be talking to.

Great post!

Came here to comment via Good Mom/Bad Mom. You're so right - happiness is a new comment!

hard for others to understand...but so true :)

I'm still at the 'little circle' of commenters stage of blogging, and I know exactly what you mean when you describe the delight of having someone new stumble across your little corner of the blogosphere... Like I just did on yours! Thanks for a sweet, sweet post.
